Who We Are

The UK's dedicated
inspection specialists.

BIAS Quality Solutions was founded on a straightforward principle: when a quality problem occurs in a supply chain, speed, precision, and impartiality are everything. A quality escape that reaches a production line costs far more than one caught at the door.

Our team brings over a decade of hands-on engineering experience across the UK's automotive and aerospace sectors. We are not generalists or labour agencies. We are engineers and quality professionals who understand tolerances, drawing requirements, checking fixture methodology, and what it actually takes to protect a production line.

We founded BIAS Quality Solutions to give UK manufacturers access to a genuinely engineering-led third party inspection partner. One that treats every job with the technical rigour it deserves and delivers results that stand up to OEM scrutiny, customer audits, and the expectations of Tier 1 supply chain managers.

Engineering-led, not labour-led

Our inspectors understand engineering drawings, GD&T, and how parts are manufactured. We do not send generalist operatives.

Genuine 24-hour mobilisation

Not a marketing promise. When you have a quality escape on a live production line, we move fast. Contact us and we confirm availability immediately.

Documentation your customers will accept

Reports formatted to OEM and Tier 1 standards. Shift logs, photo evidence, defect categorisation, and a clean stock certificate on completion.

Services

What we deliver

Specialist third party inspection and containment services deployed directly to your facility or supplier site. We protect your production line when quality issues arise.

// 01

Visual Inspection

Systematic 100% part-by-part visual examination carried out by engineering-trained inspection operatives. We identify surface defects, cosmetic non-conformances, assembly errors, labelling issues, and damage caused during transit or handling. Every finding is recorded, photographed, and reported against your specific criteria. Visual inspection forms the backbone of most containment activities and is often the fastest way to separate conforming stock from suspect parts before a problem reaches your line.

// 02

Gauge and Checking Solutions

Verification of critical part dimensions using calibrated gauges and customer-supplied checking fixtures. We work to your defined acceptance criteria, using go/no-go gauges, fixed gauges, and attribute checking fixtures to confirm parts meet specification. Full documented pass/fail records are maintained at every stage, providing complete traceability. Where fixtures or gauges need to be verified prior to use, we confirm their condition and record this as part of the activity log, giving you a defensible audit trail throughout the sorting operation.

Quality Containment and Stock Sorting

When a quality escape is identified, rapid containment is critical. BIAS Quality Solutions can deploy inspection teams directly to your supplier's facility, to your own goods-in area, or at any point in the supply chain where suspect stock needs to be assessed. We sort, quarantine, and segregate non-conforming parts, preventing them from entering production. Sorted stock is clearly marked and labelled, with a full record of quantities inspected, quantities rejected, and rejection reasons. We work to your instructions and keep you updated with regular progress reports throughout the activity.

Reporting and Documentation

Every inspection activity we undertake is fully documented. You receive shift reports, defect logs, photographic evidence, and final summary packs formatted to OEM and Tier 1 reporting standards. A clean stock certificate is issued on completion, confirming that all parts released back into the supply chain have been inspected and found conforming to your acceptance criteria. Reports are clear, professional, and designed to be presented directly to your customer or quality team without further editing. If your customer has a specific format requirement, we will work to it.

Our Background

Over a decade of
engineering experience.

BIAS Quality Solutions is founded and led by engineers with extensive backgrounds in UK automotive and aerospace manufacturing. Our experience has been gained working directly in production environments, quality departments, and supply chain roles across some of the UK's most demanding engineering sectors.

This means our inspectors understand how parts are designed, how they are manufactured, and where non-conformances typically occur. We know what a quality manager needs from an inspection report, what an OEM customer expects when reviewing containment evidence, and how to communicate findings clearly under the pressure of a live production situation.

We have supported Tier 1 and sub-tier suppliers through controlled shipping requirements, incoming inspection programmes, and supplier-side containment activities. Our experience spans stamped metal components, machined parts, fabricated assemblies, and complex sub-assemblies across both the automotive and aerospace supply chains.

When you call BIAS Quality Solutions, you are not getting a staffing agency deploying generic operatives. You are getting experienced quality professionals who know exactly what they are looking at.

Why Choose BIAS

Precision when
it counts most.

We operate as a fully independent third party, giving you impartial inspection results your customers, supply chain, and auditors can trust unconditionally.

01

Genuine Rapid Mobilisation

On-site within 24 hours for urgent containment situations. We understand production downtime is not abstract. Every hour a line is stopped or at risk has a real cost, and we act with the urgency that reflects that.

02

Fully Independent Results

No allegiance to supplier or customer. Our inspection findings are objective, thoroughly documented, and stand up to OEM scrutiny, customer audits, and third-party review. You receive the truth, not the version that makes someone look better.

03

Real Engineering Knowledge

Our teams understand engineering drawings, tolerances, GD&T, and manufacturing processes. This means we identify the right non-conformances, not just the obvious ones, and we explain them in a way that supports your corrective action process.

04

Nationwide Deployment

Teams deployable across the UK. Yorkshire, the East Midlands automotive corridor, the West Midlands, North West aerospace clusters, and beyond. If you have a supplier or facility anywhere in the UK, we can be there.

05

Documentation You Can Present

Reports that are professional, clearly structured, and ready to go straight to your customer or internal quality team. We understand what OEMs and Tier 1 customers expect and we deliver to that standard every time.

Independent Quality Containment

When a non-conformance is found at a customer, the instinct of any supplier is to defend their process. That is entirely natural. But it means self-performed sorting is rarely seen as truly credible. An independent third party inspection removes that question entirely. BIAS Quality Solutions has no skin in the game. Our only interest is accurate, documented results.

Why Engineering Background Matters

A general operative can be trained to look for a specific defect on a specific part. An engineer understands why that defect occurs, what else to look for as a consequence, and how to document findings in a way that supports the 8D or corrective action process. That understanding is the difference between containing a problem and truly resolving it.

What Our Clients Say

"We needed containment at our supplier within 24 hours. BIAS Quality Solutions were on-site the next morning, sorted 3,000 parts, and had a full report in our hands the same afternoon. Exactly what we needed." Quality Manager, UK Automotive Tier 1

How It Works

The BIAS process

From first contact to clean stock certificate, we keep the process simple, fast, and fully documented at every stage.

// Step 01

Contact and Brief

Tell us the issue, part number, volumes, location, and urgency. We assess requirements immediately and confirm mobilisation availability within hours, not days. For emergency containment, we aim to confirm deployment the same day.

// Step 02

Team Deployment

Trained inspection operatives deployed on-site with all required gauging and checking equipment, calibrated and ready to work. We confirm acceptance criteria, review any relevant drawings or specifications, and agree reporting format with you before inspection begins.

// Step 03

Inspect and Sort

100% inspection and sorting of all suspect stock, with non-conforming parts clearly identified, quarantined, and separated from conforming product. Regular progress updates are provided throughout so you always know where the activity stands.

// Step 04

Report and Release

Full documented report with defect data, quantities inspected and rejected, photographic evidence, and a clean stock certificate confirming all conforming parts have been verified and are clear to release to your production line.

Controlled Shipping

CS levels we cover.

Controlled Shipping is one of the most demanding situations a supplier can face. BIAS Quality Solutions is experienced at all three levels — from initial monitoring through to the most stringent firewall inspection requirements.

// Level One
CS1
Controlled Shipping Level 1

The first tier of controlled shipping. Typically imposed by an OEM or Tier 1 customer when a supplier has experienced a quality escape. Requires the supplier to implement a documented inspection process at their own facility before parts ship.

  • 100% inspection at supplier's facility
  • Documented control plan and work instructions
  • Regular reporting to customer quality team
  • Independent third party verification preferred
  • Typically 3–6 month duration until exit criteria met
// Level Two
CS2
Controlled Shipping Level 2

Escalation from CS1 when fall-out is not improving. CS2 mandates a second, independent layer of inspection — a firewall — between the supplier and the customer. This layer must be provided by a third party independent of both supplier and customer.

  • Mandatory independent third party firewall
  • Inspection at customer's goods-in or supplier site
  • Separate inspection records from supplier's CS1
  • Escalated reporting cadence — often daily
  • BIAS Quality Solutions fully qualified for CS2 delivery
// Launch Support
GP12
Safe Launch / GP12 Support

GP12 is the General Motors safe launch protocol, now widely adopted across OEMs under various names. Applied to new part launches and tooling changes, it requires 100% inspection of initial production runs before parts can ship to the assembly plant.

  • 100% inspection of initial production batches
  • Applied at part launch, tooling change, or process change
  • Clean stock tagged, bagged, and certified
  • Exit requires demonstrated process capability
  • Common across GM, Ford, Stellantis and Tier 1 supply chains

CS2 requires an independent third party. Self-performed sorting does not satisfy CS2 requirements under any major OEM standard. BIAS Quality Solutions operates with full independence from both supplier and customer, making our documentation fully defensible to OEM audit and your customer's quality team.

Common Questions

Frequently
asked questions.

Everything you need to know about working with BIAS Quality Solutions. If your question is not answered here, contact us directly and we will respond within 2 business hours.

Third party inspection is the use of an independent, unaffiliated organisation to verify product quality, dimensions, or compliance. Because the inspector has no connection to either the supplier or the customer, results are impartial and defensible to OEM audit standards. It removes the credibility problem that comes with self-performed sorting and provides a level of assurance that internal inspection simply cannot offer.

For urgent containment situations we target on-site deployment within 24 hours anywhere in the UK. Contact us directly for emergency support and we will confirm availability the same day. For planned inspection activities we will agree a schedule that fits your requirements.

Quality containment involves the rapid identification, sorting, quarantine, and segregation of suspect or non-conforming parts within a supply chain. The goal is to prevent defective components from reaching a production line or end customer. BIAS Quality Solutions provides the full service: 100% inspection, stock segregation, documentation, and a clean stock certificate on completion. We can operate at the supplier site, your goods-in, or any location in between.

Both. We deploy wherever the stock is. This might be at the supplier's facility to inspect and sort parts before they are shipped, at your goods-in to check an incoming delivery, or at a third location such as a logistics hub or warehouse. We are flexible and will work at whatever location makes the most sense for the situation.

Our reports include shift-by-shift progress logs, total quantities inspected, quantities passed and failed, defect categories with counts, photographic evidence, and a final summary. If your customer has a specific report format they require, we can work to it. All reports are professional, clear, and ready to present directly without further editing.

We cover the whole of the UK. Our team is based in Yorkshire and has strong coverage across the North of England, the Midlands automotive corridor, and the North West aerospace cluster. For locations further afield, we confirm mobilisation feasibility and timeline when you contact us. There are very few locations in the UK we cannot reach within 24 hours.

Yes. While we are well set up for urgent reactive deployment, we also support clients on planned ongoing inspection programmes. This might be regular incoming inspection at your facility, a long-term supplier monitoring arrangement, or a scheduled inspection contract tied to specific batches or production volumes. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
